Figures

I prefer a impression of the subject with focus on the light.  The human form is beautiful and has been a subject of art for centuries.  I have been influenced by Russian masters such as Fechin and contemporary artists such as Jove Wang.   There is a link going back into history for hundreds of years and it is interesting to trace back into history of the figure and enjoy contemporary renditions as well.

Coastal/Boats

This section contains all my work from the coast, including seascapes, boats, and materials from coastal towns.  I really enjoy painting boats with their unusual and strange forms.

Cityscapes

Buildings and architecture and people walking or some other activity provide the plein air painter with more material to capture a "vignette of life".  With light and color cascading onto buildings, art becomes alive amidst concrete.

Southwest

The southwest  and the warm colors of the desert are one of my favorite areas to paint.  I like the figures of the Native Americans.  They are a very spiritual people, one whom I have gotten to known over the years.
